However given their nature is more exploratory and social than purely trading items for free perhaps other social network sites are worth looking at. I see that Fife, for example uses Ning.com. Ning... Yahoo... I don't think it matters much. The trick to a successful café is, in my view, sustaining interest. And, based on my 15 years of experience, it isn't easy at all. There are way too many competing forces out there these days to distract people.
